PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 10-digit number generated when a train ticket is booked. Using this number, you can check your PNR status online and know your train ticket status instantly.

3. What details does PNR status show?

PNR status shows complete information about your train ticket, including whether your ticket is Confirmed (CNF), RAC, or Waiting List (WL).

4. What do CNF, RAC, and WL mean?

5. Can I travel with a WL ticket?

No. If your ticket remains WL (Waiting List) after chart preparation, you are not allowed to travel on the train. A waiting list ticket is automatically cancelled and does not permit boarding.

6. When is the final PNR status updated?

The final PNR status is updated after railway chart preparation, which usually happens 3–4 hours before the train departure. After chart preparation, your ticket position shows Confirmed (CNF), RAC, or Waiting List (WL).
